Meet the Team

Suzanne Starr, DVM, CCRP | veterinarian and owner

Suzanne graduated from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1996 and completed an internship at the Angell Memorial Animal Hospital. She has practiced general veterinary medicine in the greater Boston area for 8 years prior to opening Paws In Motion. She has completed the IVAS course for veterinary acupuncture and is certified in canine rehabilitation through the University of Tennessee.  Suzanne is also a  member of the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management.  Outside of work, Suzanne was on the board of directors of the Mass Animal Coalition and is currently on the board of the MVMA Charities.  She also volunteers through the Pets And People Foundation with her therapy dog, Chipper, to visit hospitals, nursing homes and schools.  Her favorite activities are spending time with her 4 dogs.

Patty Sanclemente | Massage Therapist

Patty is a graduate of the Bancroft School of Massage with a certification in Small Animal Massage Therapy.  She has had a lifelong passion and love for animals and animal welfare, and volunteers her time and services to local rescue and shelter organizations.  It was her senior aged Golden Retriever mix, Amber, who inspired her to learn animal massage, when she started showing signs of her age.  She would look forward to her nightly massages, get completely relaxed, and then wake with a burst of energy and the friskiness of a pup!  Massage gave Amber the comfort and relief that she needed, and now other animals enjoy the same benefits through her work.  Patty shares her life with her husband, two dogs, four cats, and the occasional “foster”.

Jennifer Karey | Technician

Jennifer is a graduate of James Madison University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Biology and Health Sciences.  She fell in love with the veterinary profession, and worked her way up to becoming the Head Veterinary Technician at a busy 24-hr emergency animal hospital in beautiful Colorado.  In 2010, she moved back to New England to be closer to her family and friends.  Here, Jennifer began fostering a dog named Redford from BayPath Humane Society who had been hit by a car and was recovering from surgery on his badly broken left rear leg. Thankfully, she found Paws in Motion and began Redford’s path to recovery.  She quickly fell in love with Redford (now named Sunny) and formally adopted him in December of 2011.  Dr. Starr invited Jennifer to begin working part-time at Paws in Motion when the new swimming pool opened.  In her free time, she enjoys nothing more than spending time with Sunny out on a trail, running, backpacking, rock climbing, mountain biking, or showshoeing.
